This is where it all started! We completed this behemoth of an indoor hydroslides attraction, with its huge capacity of over 1900 rides per hour in 2005. Designed as a seamless addition to QEII Park’s ‘Atlantis’ themed aquatic leisure facilities. It was New Zealand’s largest indoor water slides attraction, with a mix of 5 hydroslides and a combined length of about half a kilometre. And still the queues were huge!
With 2 tube rides and 3 different body slides, riders couldn’t get enough of the multiple experiences, even more so when we added light and sound. These slides were a key entertainment drawcard for the QEII Park and Christchurch generally, before the QEII Pool was unfortunately destroyed in the Canterbury earthquakes. Our WhiteWater hydroslides survived the earthquakes pretty well, but the QEII building was broken.
